A sleeve extends a grommet's passage beyond the mounting surface. It can guide a cable locally when the profile and length suit the installation.
Check the opening, panel thickness, passage size and sleeve projection. Only shorten or trim a sleeve when the product instructions permit it; cutting can affect support, retention or sealing features.
Select the compound for the actual temperature and exposure. A quality part still has operating limits and should not be assumed to perform identically in extreme heat and cold. Review custom geometry from a customer drawing or sample and verify the approved part in the assembly.
