A 7 mm grommet specification should identify the feature being measured. Confirm the complete drawing, including mounting-hole dimensions, panel thickness, passage and flange clearance.
Select the compound and hardness for the actual temperature, fluids and outdoor exposure. Heat, flame, fuel and weather resistance are separate requirements and must be documented for the chosen grade or part.
No generic rubber grommet should be assumed immune to extreme temperature changes. For custom manufacture, provide a drawing or existing sample for review, quotation, tooling and sampling. Verify the approved part against the agreed requirements before production.
