Rubber grommets can help protect intact cable insulation at specified equipment openings. They reduce local contact with a cut edge when correctly sized and installed.
Check the cutout, panel thickness, cable dimensions and retaining profile. Use suitable strain relief or sealing components when required by the equipment. A basic edge grommet does not perform every cable-entry function.
The component does not eliminate all electrical hazards or repair damaged wiring. Follow the requirements for the complete installation, including insulation, support and protective measures. Select the compound for the actual environment and inspect the fitted entry.
