Rubber Sealing Plugs for Anaerobic Applications

Rubber Grommets1 min readExplore product profiles

A plug for an anaerobic process must meet the requirements of the complete container or equipment assembly. A generic rubber stopper does not, by itself, establish oxygen exclusion, sterility or suitability for pressure service.

Define the process conditions

Specify the opening geometry, contact media, concentration, temperature, exposure duration and cleaning or sterilization procedure. Include any pressure or vacuum conditions and the required sealing performance. Gas permeability and leakage requirements should be evaluated for the selected material and assembly.

Select a documented compound

Silicone and other elastomers are not resistant to every chemical. Neither odor nor taste establishes food-contact suitability. Confirm the material and compliance requirements for the intended use.

For custom manufacturing, provide a customer drawing or existing sample. We review manufacturability and quotation requirements, then agree tooling, sampling and production arrangements. Confirm performance with the required tests before use.
