What makes electrical wire grommets great? Well, not only are they one of the most affordable yet useful products on the market, but their wide range of use-case scenarios makes them one of the most versatile products money can buy. But that is not all there is to it. We have been manufacturing electrical wire grommets and other rubber products for a really long time, and as far as we are concerned, what makes this product special is its incredible resilience to all kinds of factors.
Not all rubber compounds are electrically insulating. Where electrical insulation is required, select a compound with suitable insulating properties and verify the finished part against the application’s electrical requirements and service conditions. A cable-protection grommet does not replace the cable’s insulation or other required electrical safeguards. In addition to that, electrical wire grommets can also withstand both high and low temperatures. Typical silicone grommet dry-heat screening range: −60°C to +200°C. The usable range depends on the compound, exposure duration and service conditions. Water and steam require a separate compatibility assessment; higher-temperature exposure requires grade-specific qualification. Naturally, you would almost never run cabling in such an environment, but it is good to know that the protective grommet could survive it. Another thing to consider is also rebound resilience, tear strength, as well as abrasion resistance. These things will directly determine how resistant and durable the grommet is and how much physical protection it can offer to the cabling.
Finally, the best thing about electrical wire grommets is the fact that they come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, depending solely on your needs and requirements. They can be both big and small, with appropriately sized openings depending on the wires you are routing through them. And, if you are looking for some nice aesthetics, these rubber grommets come in all kinds of different colours. If you don’t happen to notice the grommet you are looking for in our catalogue, feel free to contact us, and we will discuss making the custom one for you.
