A grommet rubber seal must be specified for the mating opening and any cable or tube passing through it. Snap-fit describes a retaining method and does not by itself establish sealing performance.
Provide the opening dimensions, panel thickness, passage diameter and required exposure conditions. Check the profile, material and installation method against those requirements.
High-quality rubber is not automatically compatible with every oil, acid or outdoor environment. Use relevant compound data and verify the fitted seal. For custom manufacture, submit a drawing or existing sample and agree on tooling, sampling, tolerances and acceptance criteria.
