Rubber grommet sizing includes the dimensions of both the part and its mating opening. For a conventional round profile, check the inside and outside diameters, groove diameter, groove width and overall thickness.
Compare these with the panel cutout, panel thickness and cable or tube dimensions. Changing one feature can affect retention, installation or the available material around the passage, so dimensions should be reviewed together.
For custom manufacture, provide a drawing or existing sample with tolerances and service conditions. Confirm the compound, tooling and sampling requirements, then verify the approved part's fit and required performance before production.
