A wire grommet provides a protective interface where a cable passes through a panel. It helps reduce contact with the cut edge but does not guarantee that the cable cannot be damaged elsewhere.
Select the mounting dimensions, panel-thickness range and passage size from the product drawing. Check whether the installation needs access to one or both sides. A split profile may be useful around an existing cable, subject to the intended fit and retention requirements.
Do not treat an ordinary grommet as a cable clamp. Verify support and pull resistance separately, and choose a compound suitable for the temperature, fluids and weather encountered in service.
