Round rubber grommets are made in different profiles for specified circular openings. Open passages, blind plugs and extended sleeves have different functions.
Use the drawing to check flange arrangement, groove dimensions, passage and panel-thickness range. The number of flanges should not be selected from a general rule about thin or cylindrical surfaces; the complete mounting geometry determines fit.
Select the material for the actual temperature, fluids and weather exposure. Rubber can deteriorate or lose retention under unsuitable conditions. Verify the installed part and any required sealing or mechanical performance rather than assuming every round grommet provides the same protection.
