A rubber cord grommet helps reduce abrasion at a specified panel entry. The opening must still be prepared correctly because sharp burrs can cut the rubber during installation or service.
Check the cutout, panel thickness, cord diameter and retaining profile. Follow the product instructions for edge preparation and fitting. Ensure the part is fully seated and the cord is not pinched or sharply bent.
Provide separate support or strain relief where needed. An ordinary grommet does not isolate all machine vibration or resist every environment. Choose the compound for the actual operating conditions and inspect the entry periodically as required.
