A fuel-line grommet can form part of the seal where a line passes through a tank wall. It is not a replacement for a missing fuel cap or an unspecified tank plug. Use the component specified for the equipment and its intended function.
Requirements to confirm
Identify the equipment, tank opening, wall thickness and fuel-line dimensions. Specify the actual fuel, including any blend components, operating temperature and pressure or venting conditions. Compatibility must be established for the selected compound and finished part.
Fit and verification
Follow the equipment manufacturer's installation and inspection requirements. Check for damage, correct retention and the required seal before operation. A generic statement that rubber resists fuel is not sufficient evidence of suitability.
For custom manufacturing, provide an approved drawing or existing sample and the required material and test specifications. Do not substitute a visually similar grommet solely because it fits the opening.
