A rubber grommet can help protect an electrical cord at a panel opening. Select it using the specified mounting-hole size and panel-thickness range, not the outside flange diameter alone.
The flange of a conventional grooved grommet overlaps the opening. A part can therefore have an outside diameter larger than the hole and still be the correct fit. Check the drawing's groove and passage dimensions.
Select the compound for the operating environment and use the required strain relief. Service life and material suitability depend on the actual conditions. Inspect the installed entry and replace damaged or deteriorated parts as required.
