How Rubber Grommets Are Manufactured

Rubber Grommets1 min readExplore product profiles

Rubber grommet manufacturing uses a suitable compound, mold and process to produce the specified profile. For thermoset rubber, molding includes shaping the compound and curing it; it should not be described simply as melting finished rubber.

Silicone is an elastomer family, not a universal additive used to improve every rubber compound. Material selection depends on the part's temperature, fluids and mechanical requirements.

Custom manufacture starts with a customer drawing or existing sample, followed by review, quotation, tooling and sampling. Agree on dimensions, tolerances and inspection criteria, and verify any required sealing or mechanical performance before production.
