Choose a rubber grommet material from the actual service requirements. Important factors include temperature, contact fluids, weather exposure, movement and the required mechanical properties.
Natural rubber, NBR (Nitrile), neoprene, EPDM, silicone and FKM are distinct elastomer families. Their names alone do not establish compatibility with every oil, acid or temperature. Use data for the selected compound and exposure conditions.
Flame resistance, electrical properties and food or skin-contact suitability require relevant specifications and documentation. Confirm hardness and dimensional requirements as well, then validate the approved part in the intended assembly.
