A bored rubber stopper must fit both the container opening and the tube or other item passing through it. A tapered stopper is not dimensioned in the same way as a grooved panel grommet.
Dimensions for a tapered stopper
Record the top diameter, bottom diameter, height and bore diameter. Identify the intended insertion depth and opening geometry. Use a dimensioned drawing and state the units; a nominal stopper number alone may not identify the required fit.
Application requirements
Specify the contact media, temperature, pressure or vacuum conditions and cleaning process. Do not assume that a suitable dimensional fit establishes food-contact suitability or a pressure seal.
For a panel grommet, use the mounting-hole and groove dimensions instead. Our size finder can help compare panel-grommet profiles; stopper requirements should be reviewed against a stopper drawing or an existing sample.
Use our size finder to compare listed dimensions, then check the selected part drawing and material specification.
