A rubber wire grommet covers the edge of a panel opening where an insulated wire or cable passes through. It does not insulate an exposed conductor end or replace a suitable electrical termination.
Select the bore, mounting-hole size and panel-thickness range from the part drawing. Follow the installation instructions and confirm that the cable jacket is undamaged. Any pulling load may require separate strain relief.
Wire grommets can be made from different compounds; they are not all SBR or a fixed blend of rubbers. Check the actual material against the temperature, weather and chemical exposure. A sealing function requires a suitable profile and evidence for the assembly.
