SBR stands for styrene-butadiene rubber. SBR grommets can be considered for suitable general-purpose edge-protection applications, but the performance of the finished part depends on its formulation and dimensions.
Compare specific compounds
Regular rubber is not a defined comparison material. Temperature resistance, abrasion resistance and hardness should be compared using data for identified compounds under the same test conditions. The material name alone does not establish a suitable operating range.
Fit and environment
Measure the panel opening, panel thickness and cable size. Identify oils, cleaning agents, outdoor exposure and expected movement before selecting the compound. Follow the installation instructions instead of forcing an unsuitable part into place.
Confirm the available profile, color and quantity when ordering. If a standard part does not fit, submit a drawing or existing sample for review and quotation.
