A sealing grommet must match the mating opening and the cable or tube passing through it. Tightness by feel alone does not establish an airtight or watertight connection.
Use a component specified for the intended fluid, temperature and pressure. In a liquid-cooling system, follow the equipment and fitting manufacturers' assembly and leak-testing procedures. A general cable grommet should not replace a specified fluid connection.
Check dimensions, surface condition and the required compression before installation. Verify the completed assembly against the application requirements, and inspect it before placing nearby equipment into service.
