EPDM Rubber Grommets
Bring the panel dimensions and service conditions together when specifying EPDM grommets. EPDM is a listed product material option and a family to consider for weathering and water-service requirements, subject to confirmation of the actual compound and part.

Choose a Product Series to Order
Open a product series, match the drawing and part dimensions, then select the available material and color. Review the price and minimum order, add the part to your cart, and adjust the quantity before checkout. Select your required material on the product page; confirm the compound for your service conditions.

Describe the complete exposure environment
EPDM family guidance is useful for screening, but the fluid and temperature details determine what needs to be confirmed.
Weather and ozone
The material guide gives EPDM favorable weathering and ozone ratings. Describe whether the part is sheltered or exposed, the temperature cycles and the required service-life acceptance criteria.
Water and cleaning conditions
State water temperature, exposure duration, cleaning agents and concentrations. Water and steam suitability depend on the cure system, compound and temperature; cleaner and solvent formulations need individual review.
Petroleum contact
The EPDM guide advises against mineral oils, petroleum greases and fuels. Include incidental splashes, assembly lubricants and maintenance products in the exposure list, and compare another material family if these are involved.
Connect EPDM to a defined grommet geometry
A material option and a dimensional match are separate parts of the purchasing specification.
Panel retention dimensions
Specify the panel cutout, thickness, groove geometry and dimensional tolerances. Check the drawing orientation and available space around both faces of the panel.
Cable and installation details
Provide the cable outside diameter or bundle envelope and the installation sequence. State whether the part is installed before or after connectors and whether movement at the passage is expected.
Hardness and appearance
Include the required hardness value, scale and tolerance, plus a color reference or approved sample. An EPDM option does not guarantee every profile, hardness and color combination is available or held in stock.
Confirm the compound and approval requirements
Use a part-specific quotation and sample evaluation to connect the material choice to your purchasing requirements.
Quote the selected configuration
Send the part number or controlled drawing, EPDM specification, order quantity and delivery requirements. Identify any required material documents and inspection records before the quotation is finalized.
Define the service checks
List the exposure tests, fit checks and acceptance limits needed for your assembly. Family-level water or weathering guidance does not establish a waterproof rating or an outdoor lifetime for the finished part.
Review custom manufacturing
If the dimensional range does not match, provide your drawing or existing sample. Manufacturability review, quotation, tooling, sampling and production are arranged against the confirmed project specification.
Before you specify a part
EPDM Rubber Grommets: purchasing questions
Confirm the complete part specification and acceptance requirements for your assembly.
Is EPDM available as a product material option?
Yes, EPDM is listed in the product configuration. Confirm the selected part number, dimensions, compound, hardness and color with the quotation; the option does not mean every combination is in stock.
Can EPDM be used where petroleum oil or fuel is present?
The material guide lists petroleum oils, greases and fuels as limitations for EPDM. Disclose all such contact, including lubricants used during installation, and review alternative material families for the actual fluid conditions.
Does choosing EPDM make a grommet waterproof?
No. A sealing requirement needs the cable, panel, grommet geometry, assembly conditions and test criteria to be evaluated together. EPDM as a material choice does not establish an ingress rating.
What information is needed for hot water or steam?
Provide continuous and peak temperatures, exposure duration, pressure if relevant, cleaning chemistry and acceptance criteria. The cure system and selected compound must be reviewed for these conditions; no universal temperature capability is implied.
Prepare your production inquiry
Send the part reference or your drawing or existing sample details, required quantity and service conditions. Confirm manufacturing feasibility, sample arrangements and production requirements for your specification.
