Oval profile selection
Match the oval opening in both directions
Oval rubber grommets provide an open passage for cables or bundles in an elongated panel cutout. Match the long and short axes of the profile, passage and groove to your installation; a single diameter is not enough to identify the fit.
Read the oval drawing as a complete profile
Long axis and short axis
Keep each dimension pair in the order shown on the drawing. Check both axes of the cable passage and panel cutout, including orientation within the assembly. Do not substitute the outside dimensions for the groove dimensions.
Panel thickness and clearance
Match groove width to the panel thickness. Check the outer flange, overall thickness and space around the opening so adjacent parts do not interfere with installation.
Cable bundle and material
Confirm the bundle envelope and installation access against the opening. Specify hardness, color and service conditions separately; a dimension row does not confirm availability in every material.

Which measurements identify an oval grommet?
Provide the long and short axes of the cable opening and panel cutout, plus panel thickness. Compare the groove, outside dimensions and overall thickness with the drawing and confirm units and tolerances.
Can I select a part from the long axis alone?
No. Two profiles with the same long axis may have different short axes, groove widths or cable openings. Confirm every relevant dimension and the installation orientation.
Are all listed oval sizes available in silicone or other materials?
Material, hardness and color options must be confirmed for the selected part and service conditions. A size listed on the product page is not confirmation of stock in every compound.
Can you manufacture an oval grommet to my drawing?
Yes. Send your drawing or existing sample with tolerances, material requirements, quantity and acceptance conditions. Custom manufacture proceeds through manufacturability review, quotation, tooling, sampling and production.
