Existing cable assemblies
Split Rubber Grommet Requirements
When connectors are already fitted, describe how the grommet must be assembled around the cable. Send your drawing or existing sample for review of the split structure, manufacturing feasibility and supply arrangements.

Choose a Product Series to Order
Open a product series, match the drawing and part dimensions, then select the available material and color. Review the price and minimum order, add the part to your cart, and adjust the quantity before checkout. These are standard catalog profiles for comparison; application suitability and any required performance must be confirmed.

Define what split means in your assembly
A center hole and a side opening are different structural requirements. The drawing should show how the cable enters the part.
Open center versus split
An open-center grommet has a cable passage but may have a continuous outer body. Do not assume it can be installed laterally around an existing harness. Show the required side opening or separate pieces explicitly.
Single cut or separate pieces
State whether the requirement is a single split, a two-piece construction or a defined closure feature. Mark the seam location and include its geometry and acceptance requirements on the customer drawing.
Connector and access envelope
Provide the cable bundle dimensions, connector size and available panel access. Explain why end-feeding is unavailable and show the intended installation and removal sequence.
Specify the panel and seam interfaces
Review the assembled condition, including the split, rather than relying on the dimensions of an unsplit profile.
Panel location and retention
Give the cutout geometry, panel thickness, groove dimensions, tolerances and mounting orientation. State required retention checks and whether service access requires repeated removal.
Seam condition
Define the acceptable seam position and opening in the installed state. Include any closure hardware or features in the assembly drawing, and specify how the sample will be inspected.
Exposure and performance
List temperatures, fluids, movement and abrasion conditions. If sealing or cable restraint is required, provide the test method and acceptance criteria; a split profile alone does not establish either function.
Request review against your drawing or sample
Availability and manufacturing feasibility are confirmed for the proposed structure and specification.
Supply the complete part definition
Send the controlled drawing or existing sample details with material, hardness, dimensions and seam requirements. Include an assembly sketch if the panel and connector arrangement affect installation.
Agree the sample checks
Define fit, installation, retention and seam inspection before sample manufacture. Include service-exposure checks where the split is part of a sealing or mechanical requirement.
Confirm the manufacturing scope
State evaluation and production quantities and requested delivery. Manufacturability review precedes confirmation of tooling, sampling, production and supply arrangements for the specified split structure.
Before you specify a part
Split Rubber Grommet Requirements: purchasing questions
Confirm the complete part specification and acceptance requirements for your assembly.
Is an open-center grommet also a split grommet?
No. Open-center describes the cable hole; split describes a side opening or divided construction for assembly. A continuous-body open-center part should not be represented as a split product.
Can I assume a standard round grommet can be cut?
Do not assume that cutting preserves the specified fit, retention or service performance. Submit the required split drawing and installed acceptance criteria for manufacturing review.
Are split profiles available as standard stocked parts?
Supply is confirmed against the requested split structure and specification. Send a drawing or existing sample with quantities to establish manufacturing feasibility and the proposed supply arrangements.
Will the split seal around an existing cable?
That requires review of the seam, cable, panel and installed geometry against defined test conditions. No water-tightness, ingress rating or cable-restraint performance is established by the split description alone.
Prepare your production inquiry
Send the part reference or your drawing or existing sample details, required quantity and service conditions. Confirm manufacturing feasibility, sample arrangements and production requirements for your specification.
