A rubber grommet seal must be specified for its mating surfaces and exposure. A closed center alone does not establish an airtight or pressure-tight closure.
Blind panel plugs cover unused openings. A membrane or semi-blind profile may be designed for permitted piercing, but its installation instructions determine how it can be used. Do not assume it is intended to regulate flow.
Provide the opening dimensions, panel thickness and any cable or tube size. Specify the fluid, temperature and pressure where relevant. Select a suitable compound and verify the assembled seal against the application requirements.
