A 50 mm grommet label must be checked against the product drawing. Confirm whether it describes the mounting opening, internal passage or outside diameter.
Check the panel-thickness range, groove profile, flange clearance and installation method. Open grommets, blind plugs and membrane profiles serve different purposes; do not assume every part has a removable membrane.
Select the compound for the actual temperature and substances involved. Acid resistance depends on the specific chemical, concentration, temperature and material grade. A general rubber grommet should not be presented as a universal chemical barrier, water seal or thermal insulator.
