Rubber grommet dimensions should be stated on a drawing with appropriate tolerances. Nominal values alone do not imply that every molded part has exactly the same dimensions.
Check the inside and outside diameters, groove dimensions, panel-thickness range and overall depth as applicable. Agree on the measurement method and conditions, particularly where flexible features can deform under measuring force.
Compare the specification with the actual mounting opening and cable or tube. For custom manufacture, define inspection and acceptance criteria before sampling. Verify the approved part's fit rather than relying on a general promise of perfect measurement accuracy.
