Black rubber grommets can provide an edge interface at specified cable or tube passages. Color alone does not establish a compound's performance.
Check the mounting-hole dimensions, panel thickness, passage and flange clearance. Select the material for the actual temperature, fluids and outdoor exposure. An open grommet is not automatically a water seal or chemical barrier.
Use a grommet with intact wiring and the required support or strain relief. It does not restore damaged insulation. Verify seating and cable clearance after installation, and confirm any additional electrical or sealing requirements from the product specification.
