Grommets have a lot of uses that are very important, and they serve various important purposes. In every industry, from production, manufacturing, or construction, grommets are used in almost all places to cover the sharp and rough edges of the metals.
When in a metal electronic application, the wire goes into a hole; generally, two-piece plastic or rubber grommets are used. These are used so that the grommets safely secure the position of the electric wire by making a grip and are a very crucial product if you want to avoid any kind of pulling a wire or a power cord.
There are several types of grommet plug hole, such as tubing, electrical knockout, standard. Grommet plugs are also made up of different types of materials such as steel, brass, rubber, plastic, carbon steel, stainless steel, etc.
Grommet plug hole are used for several things, such as
* Replacing old crack grommets and running new electrical wires safely through the body of the panel.
* Protects the wire from chafing against the holes drilled.
* The grommet acts as a protective guard from the sharp metal sheet edges.
Standard plugs, which are generally seen, are in round shape and also have a few prongs which are intended to snap inside a particular hole size and stay in hole except if a lot of power is applied to take them out. Every plug has a “Hole Size” assignment, which is not the same as the hole size calculation used for grommets and eyelets.
The prongs of every standard plug hole are marginally twisted, so the vastest piece of the prong can hold on the plug solidly against the rear of the plug material. Accordingly, each and every hole plug shows a “thickness of work” with which it tends to be required to fix into and hold immovably.
