A rubber cable grommet helps reduce abrasion between a cable jacket and a panel edge. Its bore and retaining features must suit the cable route and opening.
A molded panel grommet is not necessarily a two-piece desk outlet with a liner and cap. Check the actual drawing and installation instructions. Confirm the mounting-hole diameter, panel-thickness range, bore and flange clearance.
Choose the compound for the operating temperature and specific fluids. Edge protection does not automatically establish water sealing, chemical resistance or vibration isolation. Where those functions are required, define the performance criteria and verify the selected component in its intended assembly.
