Rubber grommet plugs provide a closure for specified panel openings. Laboratory stoppers, pressure closures and panel plugs can have different requirements even when they look similar.
Confirm the opening dimensions, panel thickness and retaining profile. Choose the compound for the actual temperature and substances involved. A general rubber plug does not establish compatibility with every chemical or a pressure-rated seal.
Repeated removal can damage or deform a part. Follow the product instructions and inspect it before reuse. Verify retention and any required sealing on the assembled opening, and replace parts that no longer meet the specification.
