Wire Grommet Sizes and Inch-to-Millimeter Conversion

Rubber Grommets1 min readExplore product profiles

Wire grommet selection requires the mounting-hole size, panel thickness and cable dimensions. A nominal diameter or eyelet size number does not define all of these measurements.

Unit conversions

One inch equals exactly 25.4 mm. The examples below are conversions only, not a catalogue of available parts or a universal grommet numbering standard.

Use the part drawing

Identify whether a stated dimension is the bore, mounting hole or flange outside diameter. Preserve the specified tolerances when converting units; do not round a value and assume a nearby metric part is interchangeable.

Confirm the profile, compound and quality requirements before ordering. Use a drawing or existing sample to request a custom part when the catalogue does not provide a suitable match.
